Roopa Arts
A showcase and storefront for handcrafted wooden swings out of a Bangalore workshop, built to let the carving speak for itself.

Problem
Handcrafted work needs a site that doesn't compete with it
Roopa Arts hand-carves solid wood swings out of a Bangalore workshop — heirloom-quality pieces where every joint and carving is done by hand, not machine. A busy, template-driven website would undercut that entirely. They needed a digital presence restrained enough to let a single strong product photo carry the page, with none of the generic e-commerce chrome that makes handmade work look mass-produced.
Solution
A quiet, product-forward layout with real restraint
I designed a minimal Next.js site built around a single, confident hero product shot — a swing lit and cropped like a studio product photo — paired with short, specific copy about the craft ("100% Solid Wood," "Hand-Carved Detailing," "Custom Sizes Available") instead of marketing language. WhatsApp and phone CTAs sit right at the top, because for a made-to-order product like this, a conversation converts better than a cart.
Key features
What the site does
- Large, lazy-loaded studio product photography front and center
- Minimal, restrained visual design that lets craftsmanship lead
- Trust badges for material, craftsmanship, and custom sizing
- WhatsApp and call CTAs suited to made-to-order, conversation-first sales
- Fast Vercel deployment with automatic image optimization
Approach
Development approach
The main constraint here was self-imposed: resist adding anything the brand didn't need. I worked closely with the client on photography and copy before touching layout, since a minimal design only works if the content underneath it is strong. Technically, the priority was keeping an image-heavy site fast — modern formats, proper sizing, and lazy loading throughout.
Result
A site that matches the quality of the work it represents
The finished site gives Roopa Arts a digital presence that feels as considered as the furniture itself, with fast load times despite heavy imagery and a clear path for customers to inquire about made-to-order pieces.
